12 cow rustlers are feared dead in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State in the early hours of Thursday morning when they invaded Kukek community of the council to steal cows.
Daily Independent gathered that the rustlers, believed to be Fulani herdsmen, attacked Kukek community in Bakin Kogi Foron district of Barkinladi between 1 and 2:00 a.m and burnt down the home of a man identified as Tsok Gwom, inflicting harm on four persons.
The state Commissioner for Information, Yiljab Abraham, told Daily independent in an interview Thursday evening, that what took place was an act of criminality and not any fresh attack in his state.
He charged communities in the state to resist any form of criminality in any part of the state by reporting to security agencies of strange movements in their areas.
Daily independent gathered that the residents of the community were woken up by the sound of gunshots and in quick response, the vigilante members of the community, who launched a reprisal attack, gun down 12 of the attackers.
